First Line Friday

Y’all, I’m feeling kind of, sort of, a little bit caught up this week on the blog! YAY!
I think I’ll celebrate by reading books as I finish folding laundry… I’m wild like that.

I’m very excited about the new release I’ll be starting this afternoon! Several cowboy romances by this author are among my all-time favorites, including the FREE prequel novella to the new Cimarron Legacy series, The Boden Birthright.
Go ahead and click it, FREE book!

No Way Up by Mary Connealy

No Way Up by Mary Connealy

SKULL GULCH, NEW MEXICO TERRITORY
NOVEMBER 1880

“The steep sides of the pass into the canyon pressed down on Heath Kincaid until he could hardly breathe.”

If you’re familiar with Mary’s books, you’ll recognize Heath as the youngest brother from The Kincaid Brides series. I love the way Mary intertwines each new story with characters and locations from previous books, it’s like visiting old friends!

So, open the book nearest to you and post the first line in a comment below!

Then go see what these First Line Ladies are up to:

  2. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!! I didn’t know Heath was in No Way Up!! I just love Mary Connealy!! My first line is from Seek and Find by Dana Mentink – “Murder. The word rattled through Madison’s mind along with the outrage.”

    1. Mary is pretty great! I love her humor and feisty womenfolk!
I haven’t read any of Dana’s suspense titles yet but I loved Tippy in Sit, Stay, Love!

  4. No Way Up is on top of my “read this next” pile 🙂 I haven’t read the Kincaid Brides series yet – I definitely need to!

I am still reading the same books as last week – how did a whole week go by? So, here is one of my current reads, No Other Will Do by Karen Witemeyer:

Malachi Shaw made the arduous climb back into consciousness with great effort.

    1. Some weeks do that 😦 It’s a great book to spend an extra week in though! I just finished it yesterday. Tell Malachi I said howdy!

  5. I want to read this so bad! I will…someday haha! “When a bride finds The Dress, there is joy, laughter, and on some occasions, even spontaneous dancing.” – Love, Lace, and Minor Alterations – It just came today! Yay!

  6. “Miss Brigham, may I have a word with you?” Professor Silvious strolled down the aisle toward the stage of The Boston Conservatory of Music’s auditorium. From The Hesitant Heiress (The Everstone Chronicles) by Dawn Crandall. I just started it.
