First Line Fridays

Happy Friday, reader friends! In case you missed it, we’re celebrating our first Blogiversary all month on Faithfully Bookish! Yesterday was our first book blog spotlight with Carrie from Reading is My SuperPower!

One of my favorite titles from March is up for a giveaway over on Elizabeth Maddrey’s author spotlight plus she shared an excerpt!

Now that all that excitement is rehashed, it’s time again to peek at a first line and chat books in the comments!!!

As always, you can find my blogger buddies at the bottom of the post and I encourage you to go check out their featured books after you say hi and drop off your first line here!

Because You’re Mine by Colleen Coble

She’d never get through this final set. Flinging her dark red hair away from her fiddle, Alanna Connolly swallowed down the soreness in her throat and danced across the polished wooden floor of the stage.

The first line was a bit ominous by it’s lonesome so I tacked the second line on there for your peace of mind. 😉

This book is outside of my norm but I received the opportunity to read it through the publisher and I’m always looking to widen my reading horizons… so, I decided to give it a try.

I adore Alanna, Liam, and their band mates! I read this story in one sitting because I couldn’t put it down. You can find my review on Amazon or Goodreads at the links above.

So, open the book nearest to you and post the first line in a comment below!

Then go see what all these lovely First Line Ladies are up to:

Reading is My Superpower | Bookworm Mama | Singing Librarian Books | Radiant Light | Encouraging Words from the Tea Queen | All the Book Blog Names are Taken | Robin’s Nest | Fiction Aficionado | Bibliophile Reviews | Kathleen Denly | Lauraine’s Notes | With a Joyful Noise | A Baker’s Perspective

If you’d like to share the First Line Friday fun on your blog, let Carrie know at Reading is My Superpower!

“Belinda, I don’t want to hurt your feelings. Truly. But what in the world has possessed you?”

from Love Finds You in Poetry Texas by Janice Hanna. This will be my first Love Finds You and the premise is so fun – a self-appointed mail-order marriage broker and a disgruntled client.

I listened to Because You’re Mine on Audio, and really enjoyed it.
Yesterday I read Pepper Basham’s book Just the Way You Are ~sigh~ It’s so good that I will read it again soon. My first line:
“One step into the massive, glass-walled waiting area was all it took.”

Hmm… I’m intrigued that she has a fiddle AND she’s dancing! Meanwhile, I’m sharing the first line from Cara Putman’s new release, Beyond Justice, over on my blog today. 🙂
