Have a blessed Good Friday, reader friends! I hope y’all have a special time this weekend celebrating our Lord’s Resurrection with your loved ones and church families!
It’s time again to peek at a first line and chat books in the comments!!!
As always, you can find my blogger buddies at the bottom of the post and I encourage you to go check out their featured books after you say hi and drop off your first line here!
An Awakened Heart by Jody Hedlund
New York City
“Stop prostituting yourselves and run to the loving Father who will embrace you with forgiveness.” Reverend Bedell’s voice rose above the sniffles and muffled weeping of the women crowded on trestle benches of Centre Street Chapel.
Every time I read a Jody Hedlund book, I realize it has been way too long since I last read a Jody Hedlund book! I love the way she weaves history and fiction together.
An Awakened Heart takes readers through the streets of the poorest immigrant neighborhoods and into the lives of those called to minister to them. I adore this story and I’m especially excited to find out where the orphan train series is going to take us!
