First Line Fridays

Y’all, I had the BEST time at the Christian Fiction Readers Retreat in Nashville!!! The event was exciting, refreshing, and encouraging! I got up at 4 a.m. to make the drive and ran on adrenaline and warm fuzzies until I made it back home at 10 p.m.

Authors, readers, bloggers, it was fun to connect with everyone! I’m still basking in the afterglow of spending time with so many talented and gracious women of God. Look for the lovely faces of First Line Friday on Instagram and I’ll post some more pictures over the weekend.

Since it’s my ninth First Line Friday here on the blog and I’m feeling extra bold and brave since CFRR…
let’s post the first line of Chapter 9!

Inside the church foyer, Carin hesitated, but Ryan pressed his hand in the small of her back, directing her toward a hallway on the right.

Ane’s Chapel Springs series is hilarious and heartwarming women’s fiction. Home to Chapel Springs is book 3. Here are my reviews for book 1 and book 2! Happy reading!

So, open the book nearest to you and
post the first line of CHAPTER 9 in a comment below!

Some of my sweet FLF friends are busy fangirling, hugging, and encouraging authors at the ACFW conference in Nashville, some are on their way back home, some scheduled a post in advance, some do not have a FLF post… I’m holding down the fort today!!!

Leave them some love, we all enjoy hearing from fellow readers!

  3. “The trip to Fort Lauderdale was a quiet one. So quiet only the roll of the tires on the pavement and the gentle blow of the air conditioner could be heard.” from Finding Hope in Savannah by Melissa Wardwell. Since the first line was so short, I added the 2nd line.

Here is my line from chpt 9:

As I climbed up onto the driver’s seat, I saw Ella straighten her back, square her shoulders, smooth her dress and hair as she walked into town alone.
