We’re wrapping up our big summer reading celebration of kid lit favorites but don’t worry, I have more favorites to share!

Look for a couple of kid lit favorites each month as we continue to feed our little growing readers!

(Feel free to return the favor and tell us all about your kid lit favorites in the comments!)

About the Book

All Things Bright and Beautiful

All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful,
The Lord God made them all.

First published by Cecil Frances Alexander in 1848, this favorite hymn has become a mainstay of churches and Sunday school classes everywhere.

Here artist Katy Hudson brings new joy to the words with her fresh and bright watercolor style.

Readers can join in the fun as they follow two little girls and their brother on a day filled with the discovery of all things bright and beautiful.

Why we like it…

This timeless hymn is one of my personal favorites and one my children love as well. Katy Hudson’s illustrations have made this book a favorite for my younger two children.

We love searching the pages for every living thing we can find as the three children in the book explore God’s creation. The picture story closes with the children returning to their parents who are setting up camp at the end of the day.

It is a beautiful book and I enjoy reading it for them again and again.

I won this book in a giveaway on Chat with Vera. The opinions expressed are my own. This review was originally posted on 04/17/16.

Do y’all have any storybooks based on favorite hymns or songs?
