There can be more than comfort in food…

With No Reservations by Laurie TomlinsonWhat could well-known and wealthy Graham Cooper Jr. have in common with a blogger like Sloane Bradley, a woman with secrets she’s kept firmly out of the public eye? That is, besides a love of food.

Sloane still can’t believe Cooper’s the chef at the restaurant she’s been assigned to promote. But she’s boiling to prove to him that her “little blog” can put his place on the map.

She can also fall head over heels for the guy, who has secrets of his own, it turns out…except for one thing. She can’t get past the post-traumatic stress disorder that keeps her walled up in her home studio.

My Thoughts

Y’all, confession time… I didn’t even finish this book before I started telling my friends how much I adore it! I even sent the author a message telling her how much I adore it! I really, really adore this story!

Sloane is quirky to the max, super organized, and a food blogger extraordinaire. #bloggersunite Control is her security blanket and she has a white-knuckle grip on it. Sloane is tired of being trapped in the past but, bless her heart, she can’t break free. I love that she’s the kind of girl who has a giddy appreciation for “a bouquet of colored pens in a chunky ceramic mug… paper clips, Post-it notes, and bigger notepads… arranged by color.” I ❤ Office Supplies!

Cooper is an uber-talented chef and corporate bigwig within his family’s massive restaurant franchise. Although he initially comes across as a tad condescending, he gets a gold star for quickly seeing the error of his ways (and being a dog person, I’m biased). Between his family drama and busy professional life, Cooper has several irons in the fire yet he’s compelled to help Sloane when he recognizes a familiar turmoil just below the surface.

Seriously readers, the food in this story is going to make you drool. This book’s romantic thread possesses a perfect balance of physical attraction and emotional depth and substance. With No Reservations has earned a place among my all time favorites and I’ll be eagerly watching for Laurie Tomlinson’s next release!

I requested the opportunity to read this book through the publisher. The opinions expressed are my own.

  1. Definitely a foodie! 🙂 Hubby and I both love to bake, grill and just cook in general. Clean up isn’t so bad when you both get in there and do it either.

  2. I LOVE office supplies and will gravitate to that aisle even in the grocery store (which is the same as the book aisle so it works out well 🙂 ). This book is going on my to be read list!

  3. I’m not technically an office supply fanatic, but you could be forgiven for thinking I am by the amount I buy. The trouble is, I’m forever losing my office supplies to my kids!

Can’t wait to read this book!

  4. I enjoy office supplies but I wouldn’t say I’m a fanatic. I would be a foodie except I really dislike preparing food. I think this book cover is adorable! My favorite Heartwarming cover I’ve seen! 🙂

  5. I do like pretty papers and pens but am not a fanatic. The same thing could be said about food. I enjoy cooking and baking at times but other times it’s just a chore!

  6. I definitely love office supplies. Post-its, pens and papers. I would definitely wave the fanatic flag when it comes to journals above all else. I would love to call myself a foodie, but I’m not quite there yet.

  7. The ice cream recipe appealed to me since it looks so refreshing!
I love matching office items. Or something cute. I recently bought a pen that looks like a saquaro cactus!
