We welcome back our author friend Sara Jane Jacobs to the blog. Accompanying her is a special guest from her second book and they are providing a two-book giveaway just for y’all, reader friends!
Meet J. E. Bridwell
He’s handsome and he’s British. His brainchild for one of the very first transportation network companies quickly put him on the list of billionaires under the age of thirty.
(If you need a visual, just google Henry Cavill. They could be twins 😉) What’s his role in Season of Deception? Is he a protector or a deceiver?
Favorite holiday tradition
J. E.: I live in Connecticut and have a tradition on the Fourth of July that I started when my good friend and business partner, Brian, married Lynne, becoming a father to her twin girls. (These are girls that I call my nieces. Brian is really like a brother to me.) The marriage took place at my estate, and the celebration continues every year, complete with a festive picnic, hayride, and fireworks.
Beth: Sounds like a wonderful time!
J. E.: The 4 Disciplines of Execution by Chris McChesney, Sean Covey and Jim Huling, The One Thing by Gary Keller and Gary Papasan and The 4-Hour Workweek by Tim Ferriss. (I like to read what Michael Hyatt is reading 😉)
Beth: You sound very dedicated to your work!
J. E.: I have some wonderful horses at the estate and taking a ride helps me to relax. I’m also an art collector which is an important fact in the next story.
Beth: Horses AND art?! Fancy tastes, sir!
Favorite time to read
J. E.: Most of my reading is done very early in the morning and very late at night.
Beth: Oh, me too! The quiet hours 🙂
J. E.: I have a picture hanging in my office at Bridwell Manor that has the following quote written on it:
“I have lived, Sir, a long time, and the longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of this truth—that God governs in all the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His notice, is it probable that an empire can rise without His aid? We have been assured, Sir, in the sacred writings, that except the Lord build the house they labour in vain that build it. I firmly believe this.” —Benjamin Franklin
Beth: Great quote!
Tell us about another Season of Deception character
J. E.: I’ve been warned about spoilers so there’s not much that I can say about the other characters. I will tell you that I became very angry with Phoebe one night at the estate. What she did was utterly shocking. Well, I don’t like to speak ill of anyone, so I’ll just let you read about it.
Beth: Thanks for keeping things spoiler free for our reader friends!
Will readers be able to follow your story in future books?
J.E.:I know that I will be in book three. If there is a book four, there’s a possibility that I might be making an appearance in that one also.
Beth: Good to know!
About the Book
Phoebe Garrison will stop at nothing to steer her niece, Amanda Jarvis, away from the newly discovered affections of her childhood friend, Tyler Armstrong, His Navy SEAL career path is a far cry from the high-society lifestyle Phoebe envisions for Amanda.
And when billionaire J.E. Bridwell tries to protect Amanda from her aunt’s controlling nature, Phoebe doesn’t miss the opportunity to use his interference to her advantage.
She comes up with a plan that is sure to break Amanda’s devotion to Tyler, sending her right into a future with one of the world’s wealthiest bachelors and giving Amanda the kind of life Phoebe feels that she deserves.
